12 Tons of "Rice" Coal will flow from the coal truck, down through the chute, to the conveyor and into the "Coal Room" in the ground cellar. This amount of coal will heat our 18th Century house for 1 year. (Includes heat and hot water)

A full Coal Furnace "Hopper" will heat the entire house for 1 week in the summer and for 1 day during the cold winter months. The full ash tub is removed daily and these ash tubs are emptied every couple of weeks and worked thru the garden soil. (Always keep coal ashes on hand in winter to remove slippery ice spots on sidewalks & driveway.)
