The Barn Owl Family that lives in the Silo

Each baby Owl "Hatchling" is gently placed inside a cap.

The baby Owl "Hatchling" stays calm and can easily be weighed on the scale. These birds are approx. 40 days old and weigh between 6 1/4 lbs.-7 1/2 lbs. They are unable to fly (at this age) and depend entirely on the mother & father to bring their food to the "Nesting Box" in the Silo.
